End of Season Drive

Despite a forecast of heavy rain, we set off at 1pm, played four drawn triples’ matches of six ends, cleared the Green and got into the clubhouse before it actually rained!
Congratulations to Chris for his win on the day. Thank you to everybody who took part-18 players and one reserve-and to Sue and her team for the brilliant tea afterwards. The raffle was well supported and prizes spread around the gathered crowd. Good to see some supporters watching for the afternoon.

Brian Whatling Memorial Trophy

On Sunday 10th August we held the Brian Whatling Memorial Trophy Competition, begun in 2020, which saw thirty players enjoy warm conditions in a friendly tournament competing for a magnificent piece of silverware remembering one of our former members. Some of his family members-including brother Robin-were there and the event had generous sponsorship for the prize money. In fact Robin was third, Kevin Palmer fourth, David Haxell second and Kevin Knights was the winner.

Peter and June Wright Trophy – Sunday 1 June 2025

The 18 players who took part in the Peter and June Wright Trophy Triples Drive played in
glorious sunshine with a breeze that kept everyone refreshed. They enjoyed 4 leisurely

Stannard, ably supported by Margaret Cattermole, Mandy Palmer and Basil Stannard.
The winner was Charles Coulson, with a score of 30, closely followed by Chris Rowson on
28 with Emma Jessup in third place with 27 shots. The trophy and prize monies were

Rose Bowl 2025

Congratulations to Chris Hall on winning the Rose Bowl!
After seven months of dedicated effort from our grounds staff, we were rewarded with sunshine and a beautifully presented green for the season’s first trophy event.

It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout, including some new faces joining in. Friendships were rekindled, rivalries reignited, and everyone enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of competition and camaraderie.

In the end, it was a closely fought contest—well done to all who took part!

1st Chris Hall
2nd Phillip Leeder
3rd Adrian Gooderham
